Patricia has now been on hunger strike for 53 days and her health is now critical

Patricia Troncoso's father appeals for support

Please recieve this letter with an open heart from the father of Patricia Troncoso Robles, his daughter has now been on hunger strike for over 50 days.

TEXT OF THE LETTER

3th May, 2006

To People of the World

I am asking for your solidarity - I appeal for your understanding and support

I am Roberto Troncoso Millar, father of Patricia Troncoso Robles mapuche political prisoner in Chile.

I would like to denounce to the world the injustice of her trial the majority of the witnesses against her appeared in court with their faces covered and their natural voice distorted. Furthermore the trial concluded that she had committed arson against the forestry company Poluco-Pidenco State property, this was a replica of a previous conviction passed against Chiefs Norin and Pichun.

I am very concerned about the situation because the prisoners have now been on hunger strike for 51 days and their state of health is worsening. As a father I ask you to help me, I am desperate because the Michelle Bachellet government and The Supreme Court in Chile have not responded to the requests made by the hunger strikers or by the numerous appeals for solidarity made nationally and internationally . If they were really terrorists they would not recieve the support of so many people and social organisations.

Thank you for kind support,

Roberto Troncoso Millar
