Mapuches in The Hague report that Chile does not comply with treaties

Chile Mapuche hosts the third summit on Friday

A delegation of La Araucania Mapuche traveled to The Hague (Netherlands) to hand over a letter to Foreign Minister Heraldo Muñoz and the Chilean commission to express their dissatisfaction regarding police chases.

The Mapuche delegation is headed by the leader of the Council of All Lands, Aucán Huilcamán, who handed in the vicinity of the Peace Palace, the building that houses the International Court of Justice (ICJ), a copy of which was seen by the judges.
This in the context of the first day of arguments before the ICJ, where Chile alleges incompetence of the judiciary, respect to its jurisprudence on the Bolivian demand for sovereign access to the sea.
Aucán Huilcamán explained that “is going to be challenged from the Palace of International Justice to the State of Chile to comply with the treaties.The Chilean State can not continue ignoring its international responsibility because the treaties celebrated the Chilean State with the Mapuche people are in place and recognized by international law (…) The Mapuche people are the only people from Mexico south that has dealt with a It has been determined. ”
One hundred people came to the ICJ with paintings pointing supporting the Mapuche cause and have also organized the “International Conference on the Mapuche Treaties” meeting that is held parallel to the trial in The Hague.

The delegation is composed of representatives from different Mapuche communities Biobio and Araucania, which remain in the Dutch city waiting to be served by the Chilean authorities that are in The Hague.
